The Big Blue Film Fest showcases ocean-themed films at the confluence of marine sciences, humanities and the arts. The festival aims to engage the community and raise awareness about marine issues and how we might solve them. This year's festival includes 27 films and has expanded to two locations - the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the Newport Performing Arts Center. There are a variety of ticket options and pricing for adults and students. An opening night social with a selection of films will be held Fri, Jan. 26 from 5:15 - 9 p.m. On Sat. Jan. 27, films will be shown in two-hour blocks from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at both venues.
