Mark your calendars for January 17th for this can't-miss MLK week event about the parallels between the struggles for racial justice and caste abolition! The event will feature OSU's own Prof. Robert Thompson, Prof. Roja Singh from Dalit Solidarity Forum, and Prof. Ajantha Subramaniam from Harvard University and will be moderated by Dr. Elizabeth Barstow.

Refreshments will be served.

The event is sponsored by ASOSU, the OSU Office of Advocacy, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Office of Institutional Diversity.

There is not a zoom link for participation for the audience in this post. Nor was there one, or mention of one, in the announcement in OSU today. I don't know if this is because on isn't planned, the interface obscures it, or because it simply wasn't deceminated through these resources. However, if it was not planned I think that seems odd as panel members are apparently participating via zoom (according to the announcement in OSU Today) already. Since they must be facilitated it strikes me as odd that there isn't an option for the audience to attend by that means as well. At best it would seem to be needlessly reducing attendance, at worst it would be discrimination against those who aren't living on campus and/or are employed.
