Agriculture in the Built Environment: Singapore (INFO SESSION)
Thursday, February 6, 2025 3pm to 4pm
About this Event
Interested in learning about urban agriculture? Attend this info session to learn more about this co-designed program between OSU and the University of Oregon. This faculty-led program from Jun. 24 – Aug. 15, 2025 provides students with collaborative interdisciplinary opportunities to research and design modern and ancient ways of integrating architecture and agriculture. In doing so, they will address pressing issues of food security and equity, urban livability, human and environmental health, and climate change adaptation and mitigation. The program consists of three unique classes: Integrating agriculture into architecture (6 credits), Food & Architecture from Ancient to Modern Times (4 credits), and Field Journaling in Southeast Asia (3 credits). During the 4 week program in Singapore, participants will engage with local experts and destinations ranging from rooftop farms and lab-grown meats to aquaculture and botanical gardens. This program is partially sponsored by a USDA Urban, Indoor, and Emerging Agriculture grant.
