Dr. Dennis Griffin will give a talk titled,"Rediscovering Oregon's Military History: An Archaeological Perspective."
Griffin has earned a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon and an M.A.I.S. degree from Oregon State, and has worked throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska for the past 42 years with federal and state agencies and Tribal Nations. He has also worked for and owned several regional cultural resource management (CRM) companies. He spent the past 18 years as state archaeologist with the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), from where he retired last September. Griffin now works as a land-use historian and archaeologist on private projects and as a contractor with his own CRM firm, Cultural Horizons.
