This talk will forcus on the mechanisms that South Africa uses to govern temporalities and immobilities of Zimbabwean migrants through liminal legalities. In particular, the speaker will focus on conditional legalities on special permits and how they cultivate temporality and shape the identity and belonging of Zimbabweans in South Africa.
