DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with her exhibition running April 17 - May 24 in
  Fairbanks Gallery of Art\, Rhiannon ‘Skye’ Tafoya (Eastern Band Cherokee a
 nd Santa Clara Pueblo) will give a talk\, followed by a reception that is f
 ree and open to all.\n\nTafoya uses a variety of techniques in printmaking\
 , digital design\, sculpture\, bookmaking\, and basketry to create works th
 at reflect both of her Tribal heritages\, cultures\, and lineages. The work
 s in my hands remind me of yours manifest in two- and three-dimensional con
 structs that range in size from a few inches to a several feet.\n\n“my hand
 s remind me of yours is an offering of my love and appreciation for specifi
 c individuals who have inspired and/or taught me a way or idea of creating.
  The work [in this exhibition] shows gratitude for their expertise and thei
 r willingness to share that gift with me. Within each of those learning exp
