https://oregonstate.joinhandshake.com/edu/events/1409385Hear from four recent graduates from the College of Education on what it is like to be a teacher in today's classrooms and how to best prepare for a career in teaching through this hybrid panel which can be attended in-person or via Zoom.
Panelists Include:
Jadie De Lille Wright '23, holds a post baccalaureate bachelor's degree from OSU in Elementary Education with an ESOL and DL endorsement. She also has a bachelor's degree in environmental science from the University of Virginia. She is now a 2nd grade teacher at South Shore Elementary, a dual immersion school, teaching about 70% of the day in Spanish and 30% in English.
David Lake, ‘22, holds a bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University in elementary education. He has started his career teaching 5th grade at Jefferson Elementary and teaches various grades for summer school at the same district.
Becky McBride, B.A. ‘18, has worked at Cascade High School in Turner, Oregon for the past five years. As an English Teacher. She teaches on-level Freshman English, Advanced Freshman English, and Creative Writing. She also has experience teaching Senior English and Mythology. She advises the Writing Club at the high school, which allows students to write, edit, and publish their own novels.
Dawson Hughes, B.A. in Education and B.A. in Political Science ‘22, works at Silverton High School in Silverton, Oregon. He teaches Sophomore World History, Junior U.S. History, and Senior Government. He also advises the Chess Club and is on the school Equity Committee. His goal is to eventually get a Master’s degree in American History.
