Audition time: March 9-10 at 6 p.m. both days.

Location: Gladys Valley Gymnasium Rm. 106
 

No preparation required. Scripts will be available for checkout by Shannon in the theatre office in Snell Rm 130. Auditions will consist of cold readings provided by the director. You need not come to both days of auditions, but it is encouraged.
 

Rehearsals will be Monday through Thursday from 6-10 p.m. starting Monday, March 31. All will be required to be available every day from May 10 through the end of the run on May 18.
 

Performances will be May 15-18.
 

Plot: "Hay Fever" is the “light comedic story” of the artistic Bliss family and their attempt to keep themselves entertained over the course of a weekend at their country estate. An evening of big, ridiculous characters trying to navigate the ridiculous worlds of the Bliss family.
 

All actors will need to be comfortable with physical comedy and contact with other performers at a PG-rating level. (Kissing is the greatest intimacy seen in this world.)

Characters:

Judith Bliss - A retired star of the stage married to David and “parent” to Sorel and Simon; extravagant and self-absorbed.
 

David Bliss - Judith’s husband who is overshadowed by her personality. He is an absent-minded writer.
 

Sorel Bliss - Lively, flirtatious and loves getting caught up in the family drama.
 

Simon Bliss - A son born into wealth trying to find his way but also enjoy himself.
 

Myra Arundel - Aura of self-assuredness; brought by Simon but has other intentions.
 

Richard Greatham - A well-known diplomat brought by Sorel, a proper Englishman.
 

Jackie Coryton - The youngest, most naïve guest; invited by David, she is a party girl.
 

Sandy Tyrell - Former actor madly in love with Judith.
 

Clara - Beleaguered maid.
