 e winter 2026 production of Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric play will be held a
 t 6 p.m. Nov. 16 and 17 in GVGC 106. An additional invited call-back will 
 be at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 if necessary.\n\nAnne Washburn’s Mr. Burns is set i
 n a not-so-distant future following an apocalyptic event that has wiped ou
 t all electricity and civilization as we know it. Soon after the mysteriou
 s catastrophe\, a group of survivors attempts to cope with their new reali
 ty by re-telling familiar sitcom plots as campfire stories. As time passes
 \, traveling theatre groups have emerged from the rubble of society creati
 ng new forms of art and entertainment from the ashes of popular culture. T
 his funny and chilling play explores the roots of myth and the essential r
 ole art plays in human survival.\n\nWHAT TO PREPARE: The open audition eve
 nings will include group singing with the production’s music director an
 d some cold readings from the script. While Mr. Burns is not a traditional
  musical\, it is a play with music and all cast members are required to si
 ng in the production. To prepare for the open audition\, please familiariz
 e yourself with the melody of “Hectic Day” (listen HERE). A pdf of the
  script and the sheet music for “Hectic Day” are available to read HER
 E.\n\nFill out the online AUDITION FORM HERE before the audition. On the f
 orm\, you will indicate which night of the open audition you plan on atten
 ding.\n\n\nAuditions are open to all students\, staff\, faculty\, and comm
 unity members!\n\n\nPRINCIPAL ROLES:\n\nMatt/Scratchy – (A3-G5 – Scrat
 chy can be sung in falsetto)\nJenny/Marge – (A3-E5)\nSam/Mr. Burns - (E3
 -E5)\nColleen/Lisa – (A3-E5)\n\nGibson/Homer – (A3-E5)\nQuincy/Bart 
 – (E3-C5)\nSusannah/Itchy (A3-G5)\n\nENSEMBLE:\nEdna (A3-C5)\n\nTroy (A3

 \n\n\nRehearsals will begin with a cast read-through dinner on Saturday\, 
 December 6 in the evening. Regular rehearsals will start January 4 and be 
 scheduled Sunday 12-6 p.m. and Monday-Thursday 6-10 p.m. Tech/Dress rehear
 sals are Feb. 28-March 4. Performances run March 5-7 and 13-15. There is a
  scheduled pick-up rehearsal on March 12. All cast members must be availab
 le for all of tech week\, performances\, and a strike immediately followin
