Sunday in the Park with George is the groundbreaking 1984 musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine exploring the world of art, creativity, and innovation through the eyes of a fictionalized depiction of the French pointillist painter Georges Seurat and his great-grandson George, a cynical contemporary artist. The musical won the 1985 Pulitzer Prize for drama two Tony Awards that year.

Additional callbacks will be scheduled on Sunday December 10 at 2:00 pm. (Auditioners will be notified about the callback after the initial audition.)

Auditions are open to all OSU students, staff, faculty, and area community members.

Audition requirements: Please prepare a 32 bar selection from the musical theater repertoire, preferably Sondheim but not required. An accompanist will be provided.

AVAILABILITY AND EXPECTATIONS:
The cast will rehearse musically in Winter term during Opera Workshop class time 4:00-6:50 pm T/Th.
- You must have some availability during this time to be considered.
- You must register for the class MUS169 or MUS369. Non-students are not required to register. All other exceptions will only be granted by specific request on a case-by-case basis.
 

Staging rehearsals will begin April 1 (the start of Spring term) and be held regularly Sundays 12:00-6:00 pm and Monday through Thursday 6:00-10:00 pm. Tech will be May 4 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Dress will be 10:00-4:00 pm May 5, Dress/Tech May 6-7 and 9 at 6:00-11:00 with performances May 10-11 and 15-18.
 

There will be a mandatory cast read-through/meeting on December 15 at 6:00 pm.

All cast members must be available for all run through rehearsals April 28-May 2 and all tech, dress, performances, and a strike following the final performance.
