When the powerful King Leontes of Sicilia entertains his dear friend King Polixenes of Bohemia at his royal court, an innocent misunderstanding leads him to believe he has been betrayed by those closest to him. Leontes’ courtiers staunchly defend the accused, but obsession, jealousy, and pride drive the king to madness and he loses everything he holds dear. While the country of Sicilia mourns a series of devastating losses, across the ocean the seeds of renewal and forgiveness begin to blossom in Bohemia. The Winter’s Tale is an enduring fairy tale of grief and hope - featuring drama, ghosts, music, comedy, intrigue, love, and even a bear. This thrilling tale spanning two continents and sixteen years is the Bard’s most epic play.
