The Big Blue Film Fest showcases ocean-themed films at the confluence of the marine sciences, humanities and arts. Hosted at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, the festival aims to engage the community, provide a lively weekend of research-based entertainment, and raise awareness about marine issues and how we might solve them.

The festival will be in-person from January 27-28, 2023, in Hatfield's Gladys Valley Marine Studies Building auditorium. Tickets are only available for sale online—no cash sales. Tickets are $20/per person and $12/per student (K-12, community college and university students).

Due to limited seating, we recommend people purchase their tickets before the event. One ticket provides entry to the entire festival and all films.

Fri., Jan. 27, 6-8 p.m., includes an awards ceremony and a showing of the festival's top film. On Sat., Jan. 28, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., films will be shown in three-time blocks. Full details, including film summaries, are at https://hmsc.oregonstate.edu/big-blue-film-fest/schedule-films.
