About this Event
105 SW 26th Street, Corvallis, OR 97321
Until the end of February, the College of Engineering Center for Diversity & Inclusion is collecting donations for the Human Services & Resource Center’s “Adopt-a-Month” program to help fill in the gaps of what they receive through the Linn Benton Food Share and what might be challenging to buy when on a SNAP (food stamp) budget. Did you know that there is a food & basic needs insecurity epidemic on our campus? Nationally, according to recent research conducted by the Hope Center for College, Community, and Justice, 43% of college students are food insecure. This problem is too close to home and preventable to ignore.
We encourage students, faculty, and staff to participate in doing their part to contribute with us as they are able. We will have collection boxes in Johnson 220 until the end of February, as will many of our affinity student organizations. As an incentive, each student who donates to one or both of the following categories will receive a raffle ticket to be eligible to win one of many incredible gift cards and prizes!
Dorm-Convenient Foods: Anything that can be prepared in a dorm room/shared kitchen such as: top ramen, pop-tarts, granola bars, cereal, canned soup, etc.
Hygiene Products: Anything such as tampons/pads, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, socks, etc.
