 he university and the laws in this state have done to people of color. Part
  of redressing that harm is making the university truly accessible and welc

 ofessor of Global Health\; Project Director for the Initiative\, A Land Gra
 nt University for Equity and Justice\, College of Public Health and Human S
 ciences\, OSU\n\nJonathan Garcia received his doctorate from Mailman School
  of Public Health at Columbia University and postdoctoral training at the Y
 ale School of Public Health. He uses innovative and participatory methods t
 o develop public health interventions and inform the implementation of clin
 ical trials. He works both globally and domestically on health disparities 
 that emerge at the intersection of sexuality\, gender and race. His work ha
 s focused on devising community-led approaches to social inclusion\, HIV pr
 evention\, and Hepatitis C treatment access\, especially among Latinos and 
 LGBT populations. He maintains key partnerships in Brazil\, Peru and India.
 \n\nKate MacTavish\, PhD\nAssociate Professor of Human Development and Fami
 ly Sciences\, Co-Project Director for the Initiative\, A Land Grant Univers
 ity for Equity and Justice\, College of Public Health and Human Sciences\, 
 OSU\n\nKate's research centers on examining how small towns and rural place
 s function for the children and families who call them home. Since 1997\, s
 he has been examining contextual factors that shape developmental pathways 
 for children and youth in the distinctly lower-income rural context of a tr
 ailer park.
