The Center for Global Health will present “COVID-19 pandemic and its global impacts”. Presenters are Associate Professor Jeff Bethel and Professor Chunhuei Chi. Each speaker will present for 15 minutes, followed by an open discussion.

In efforts to minimize the risk of spreading germs, the forum will enact the following precautions:

  • All windows of Kidder 202 will remain open throughout the event, so dress accordingly
  • All attendees will need to write down their email address so they can be contacted in the future if necessary
  • A photo will be taken of the event so we can map out where everyone was sitting
  • All attendees need to use hand sanitizer prior to entering the room

Space is limited; viewing via the livestream is encouraged.

The livestream will be available at live.oregonstate.edu. The recorded video will be posted on the college’s YouTube channel after the event.

Jeff Bethel's research focuses on building adaptive capacity to address the health impact of occupational, environmental and natural hazards, particularly among vulnerable populations.

Chunhuei Chi's research focuses on equitable and sustainable health development for low-income nations; health systems finance; national health care systems and universal health care; evaluating equity and efficiency (extra-welfarism) in health care services and system finance; comparative health care systems; health development for displaced population; improvement of international health professional education; economic globalization and health development; and integrating allopathic, traditional, alternative and complimentary medicines into modern health care systems.

The Center for Global Health is a community of learning and service that brings together Oregon State and partners around the world to address current and future global health challenges.
