OSU is hosting a free half-day science workshop called Discovering the Scientist Within. The event is designed to nurture girls’ interest in the STEM fields by providing a program of hands-on activities paired with positive adult women scientist role models. The goal of the workshop is to introduce girls in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades to the STEM fields. Participants are provided the opportunity to meet successful women pursuing a diversity of careers related to science and engineering fields. The event will be held on Oregon State University’s campus in Corvallis, Oregon, on Saturday, March 7th from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Individual pre-registration is required. Registration opens February 1st and closes March 1st. Schools are welcome to bus students to the event, but each student must register individually with their parents.
