About this Event

The mini exhibition features 1:1 scale replicas of two of the most renowned Chinese paintings: The Night Revels (dated the 10th century) and Early Spring (dated 1072). Both works showcases unique medium of painting in the East Asian art tradition. Night Entertainment is a narrative handscroll that depicts episodes of a story in a continuous horizontal pictorial space. Early Spring, which was originally mounted on a free-standing screen and has been reformatted as a large hanging scroll, belongs to the “monumental landscape” genre that represents nature with an immeasurable cosmic vision.
Opens April 12, runs through April 26
