Faculty, do you wish your graduate students were stronger writers, but you’re worried about the time it takes to help them? You are uniquely positioned to improve their graduate students’ writing, yet the time and effort to do so can seem daunting. In this new workshop presented by the Graduate School and the Graduate Writing Center, faculty participants will:
+ Gain a better understanding of the academic, language, and cultural transitions English Language Learner (ELL) graduate students experience.
+ Engage in facilitated discussion about providing feedback to support graduate student learning and success
+ Explore ways to make the most of your time when providing feedback and share strategies with your colleagues
Emphasis will be on ELL writers, but the concepts delivered in this workshop will apply to all graduate students at every stage of their writing.
When: 8:30 to 10 a.m. PDT, Friday, April 24
