How do democracies become dictatorships? Do they follow particular patterns or trends? This panel examines historical and contemporary examples of democracies that have "unraveled"—including Germany, Sierra Leone, Chile, and Hungary and Russia. It will highlight both common themes and distinct circumstances in each nation. Q&A to follow.
