Gender as a Colonial Construct will be a roundtable discussion with Kimmortal about the topic of gender and its use as a colonial construct.
Kimmortal (they/them)is a non-binary Filipinx second generation settler based on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples. They hope to challenge the male and cisgendered centered hip-hop field by giving queer, persons of color, and indigenous artists more opportunities to speak for themselves.
Along with the Native American Longhouse Eena Haws, Pride Center, and SOL: LGBTQ+ Multicultural Support Network, the Asian & Pacific Cultural Center is collaborating with Kimmortal for three events to honor Queer History Month (QHM) and Filipinx American History Month (FAHM).
