Hindus for Human Rights and the Oregon State University School of Writing, Literature, and Film are pleased to present a public screening of "Homebound," India's submission for the 98th Academy Awards. Homebound is based on a New York Times article from 2020 about two friends--one Muslim, one Dalit--who work as daily wage workers and try to make their way home to their village after the COVID-19 pandemic strikes. Shortlisted for the Best International Feature Film, the story unpacks issues of caste, Islamophobia, and the failings of the Indian government during the 2020 lockdown.
