Since the COVID-19 Pandemic affected the world both economically and Healthcare Systems, likewise, NGOs and healthcare systems in low-income countries like Malawi have been hampered more by the Pandemic. LifeCare Malawi Foundation is a registered non-profit organization established in Malawi-Africa in 2017 and is equally hampered with the Pandemic like any other local organization in Low-income countries. LifeCare focuses on the five community-based core programs for poverty alleviation, health, and development. These include education, health/medical care, food security, humanitarian aid, and community development. With the COVID-19 pandemic, many program activities have been suspended and directed towards the prevention, management and treatment of COVID-19 Pandemic.
Pax Matipwiri is a Certified Clinician and Public Health Specialist, the President and Founder of LifeCare Malawi Foundation in Africa, and Hospital Medical Director at LifeCare Medical Centre. He was the former Director of Health Services for Malamulo Adventist Hospital. He completed his MPH in International Health at Oregon State University and was a Graduate Assistant at OSU’s Center for Global Health. He was also a research assistant at the University of Eastern Africa Baraton in Kenya, Malawi Adventist University in Malawi, and the University of Malawi-The Polytechnic. He has 16 years of working experience in the medical and public health field both internationally and locally.
