Have you considered how to support first-generation students in your classroom? OSU champions a culture of diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning (Quality Teaching Framework) and embraces the mindset of “every student graduates” (Prosperity Widely Shared).

This workshop provides specific instructional strategies for how to support first-generation learners, as well as learners from diverse backgrounds. Topics covered include the hidden curriculum, syllabus designs that are accessible and inclusive, transparency in teaching and assignments, and making space in the course for student knowledge and expertise.
