Come hang out with Tate Koenig, OSU alum (International Business Management, Entrepreneurship minor) and founder of the Cheese Chopper and Citizens of the World (COW).

Meet Tate:

I grew up in Canby Oregon and went to OSU where I earned an Honors degree in International Business Management with a minor in entrepreneurship. While at OSU, a fellow Beaver and I started the nonprofit Citizens of the World (COW). COW raised funds to send students abroad to aid on sustainability focused projects. Through COW I completed the 2009 Africa Rally, a 10,000 mile car race across Europe and Africa, and sent many other OSU students to volunteer around the globe.

I came up with the Cheese Chopper idea about three years ago. Over the last three years I have designed and developed the product, patented, sourced manufacturing, and navigated the logistical nightmare of a global pandemic. We launched a successful Kickstarter campaign, raising over $100k in the first month, landing us in the top 1% of Kickstarter campaigns of all time. We have now secured our spot for season 12 of Shark Tank, airing April 9th on ABC. We recently landed our first container of product and are currently fulfilling our pre-orders before beginning our official launch.

Meet the Cheese Chopper:

The Cheese Chopper is the GRATE new way to slice, shred and store your cheese with ease! It comes with three handle options - grater, wire, and blade - so no matter what kind of cheese you please it's got you covered! You can forget about oversized storage containers and single use plastic wrap because the snap-on, airtight lid keeps your cheese fresh for an unBRIElievably long time!

All students are invited for informal Q&A with Tate to hear about his experiences and be inspired. Bring your questions!
