Variation in Local Adaption Over Time

Dr. Amy Angert is a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Conservation Ecology and a Professor of Botany and Zoology within the Biodiversity Research Centre at the University of British Columbia. Her lab group works at the interface of ecology and evolution to understand the evolutionary ecology of species’ geographic distributions, asking what limits adaptation at the edges of species’ ranges, why closely related species vary by orders of magnitude in range size, and how ranges are likely to shift in response to rapid climate change. Prior to joining the faculty at UBC, she conducted postdoctoral research on desert annual plants at the University of Arizona and graduate research on monkeyflowers at Michigan State University.
