International & English as Second Language Graduate Student Writing & Discussion Group
About this Event
2900 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis, OR 97331
https://graduate.oregonstate.edu/graduate-writing-centerThis is an in-person circle for any international OSU graduate student or grad student who writes English as a second language who wants dedicated time and feedback to work on any writing or oral communication they need to do. This can include theses; dissertations; grant, fellowship, or scholarship applications; conference presentations; giving lectures or facilitating seminars; or communicating with other academics or the public about your work.
The Graduate Writing Center offers writing circles for accountability, feedback, and professional development purposes to graduate students and post-doctorates. These small groups meet weekly online or in person with a GWC Consultant to discuss work they are doing, get feedback on that work, and write silently together.
Writing circles are a great way to set aside time regularly to develop your skills as an academic and as a professional in your grad program. These circles are conducted in an atmosphere where you can consult your peers and writing consultants for support, advice, and feedback.
Circles meet in person at Heckart Lodge or over Zoom depending on your preference.
NOTE: This writing and discussion circle is NOT a class with homework for credit! Just bring anything you already want or need to work on, and we will help or work alongside you wherever you are!
