Three industry representatives will participate in a Q&A panel event hosted by the OSU Internet-Of-Things Alliance (IOTA). They’ll take questions about software development, career directions, and especially about projects at the intersection of innovative software and innovative hardware. No registration is required, but be sure to put this event on your calendar now so you don’t forget!
Industry participants
Steve Horvath is a Staff Aviation Systems Engineer that works at the Garmin AT subsidiary, located on the airport in Salem. They design and manufacture world class avionics equipment that helps pilots around the world aviate, navigate, and communicate as they fly their aircraft. Steve has held a variety of leadership positions, including currently as a Staff Aviation Systems engineer who defines product definition and requirements from product concept to completely certified avionics products. He is currently on the OSU EECS Industry Advisory Board and is a member of the MECOP Board of Directors, serving as the Electronics Committee Chair. He graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Computer Science.
Nels Oscar graduated with his Masters in Computer Science from OSU in 2017 to join Racepoint Energy as a Senior Engineer for the Cloud and Software group. Since then he's spent his time developing a range of technical solutions for handling over the air updates, communication between IoT devices and user facing applications, and developing web applications for device management.
Lonnie Mandigo is a technology Strategist and Senior Architect working for the Chief Technologist for Software in the CTO’s office of HP Inc. Lonnie has spent nearly 38 years developing cyber-physical and distributed systems for HP. Examples include test and measurement systems, X Windows based distributed user experiences, projectors and publishing systems. Current areas of interest include digital manufacturing and collaborative behavior in networks of social agents.
Chris Scaffidi, OSU Associate School Head for Online and Continuing Education & lead mentor for the MS CS Software Innovation Track, will host the event.
