Lessons In Leadership: Asian American Feminist Leadership with Sara Caldwell-Kan and Dialogue Around Leadership in the API Community
Thursday, May 13, 2021 4pm to 5:30pm
About this Event
Lessons in Leadership are small, interactive conversations in which students get to explore a unique perspective on leadership by connecting with an OSU campus or community partner who is in some way involved in social change work.
We invite you to this conversation with Sara Caldwell-Kan the Interim Center Director for the Asian & Pacific Cultural Center. Join us as we delve deeper into leadership through Sara's experiences being Asian American feminist. We will also discuss how leadership shows up within API communities and how we can combat the white heteropatraichal ideologies that have affected those communities. We’ll explore how privilege and power show up in and exclude Pacific Islander, Disabled, Queer, etc. identities from leadership roles.
For more information or accommodations for disabilities, contact 541-737-3041 or email us at cel@oregonstate.edu.
