DESCRIPTION:Dr. Danielle Robinson will present "A Vision for Decentralized 
 Data Preservation Across a Network of Libraries and Trusted Institutions" 
 and facilitate a discussion with library and research faculty about data p
 reservation workflows and how a decentralized model would work in their pr
 actice.  \n\nDr. Robinson is an open science advocate who believes in the 
 power of inclusive open communities. She serves as Co-Executive Director a
 t Code for Science & Society where she works to support open source softwa
 re projects including the Dat project\, Stencila\, and ScienceFair.  Her e
 xperiences as a researcher motivated her to apply the philosophy of open s
 ource software development to scientific research to improve efficiency an
 d research reproducibility — and to work for an inclusive future for sci
 ence and scholarship. Dr. Robinson was a 2016-2017 Mozilla Fellow for Scie
 nce\, received my PhD in Neuroscience from Oregon Health and Science Unive
 rsity in 2017\, and was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Res
 earch Fellowship in 2012. Her current work includes exploring how Dat-base
 d p2p infrastructure can improve data preservation\, research collaboratio
 n\, and public access to research data. Work on a pilot is now underway\, 
 announced on the Dat Project Blog  as well as on California Digital Librar
 y’s blog  and the Internet Archive’s blog.
