Join the School of Writing, Literature, and Film for a reading of two new novels: John Larison's The Ancients and Madeline McDonnell's Lonesome Ballroom.

 

John Larison is the author of five books. His 2018 novel Whiskey When We’re Dry, which was a Los Angeles Times and Seattle Times bestseller, finalist for the Ken Kesey Award, winner of the Will Rogers Medallion, and on many best book lists. He earned an MFA from the School of Writing, Literature, and Film at Oregon State University, where he now teaches.

 

Madeline McDonnell is the author of three books of fiction, including the novel, Lonesome Ballroom. She has an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop, where she was an Iowa Arts Fellow, and has taught creative writing, literature, and composition courses at many places, most recently the MFA program at Portland State.
