While much of the current higher education landscape leans towards DEI work (implementation of new roles, departments, and strategic plans), most of it operates at a systems-level. This presentation will discuss micro-level tangible actions through a CA(e)RE model, where we connect, appreciate (and educate), relate, and eco-humanize to counteract the harms of the -isms individually and collectively to create belonging, therefore, building a web of change.

Participants will recall how to engage in humanizing practices, reflect on personal experiences, and leave with a list of tangible ways to support others.
