Using Glyph Designs to visualize displacement vectors calculated in Finite Element Simulations
Force profiles are applied to material boundaries to create displacement using numerical modeling. Such force profiles are difficult to measure experimentally for some medical applications such as organ deformation in human bodies during radiation cancer treatment. For our numerical modeling, we design some composite glyphs that could visualize deformation information and geometry features to facilitate quantifying the link between the force applied and the corresponding deformation. The composite glyphs and their effectiveness will be demonstrated.
