Jazz Pianist Jonas Myers in his first appearance on the Music à la Carte Concert Series.
Myers is a jazz pianist and fiction writer from Seattle. He has been performing on piano and bass since his early teens. As a member of Seattle's prestigious Garfield High School Jazz Ensemble, he played at Lincoln Center in Manhattan, as well as several European jazz festivals. After studying literature and creative writing at Whitman College, Myers moved back to Seattle and became a full-time performer, appearing regularly as a solo artist and with his trio. In 2020, he released an album of original songs titled "Driving Home." In 2021 he moved to Corvallis, and is currently an MFA candidate in the creative writing program in the College of Liberal Arts at Oregon State.
Due to current COVID-19 protocol on campus, OSU students, faculty and staff may view the performance live. Those from off of campus are asked to view the livestream at https://youtu.be/WjQgf-MrPq8.
