The Bird's Eye is a collaboration between cellist Caleigh Drane and guitarist William Seiji Marsh. It was born during the pandemic, when the couple was in lockdown together and created an opportunity to continue performing and recording. The duo performs a collection of their favorite songs, ranging from jazz to folk, infusing the music with their own styles garnered from their respective music careers. Caleigh is a multi-genre cellist with a 15-year career spanning New York, Los Angeles, and now Portland, and has performed with acts such as Belle and Sebastian, John Cale, Jonas Brothers, Imogen Heap, and Vitamin String Quartet. William is a guitarist and educator, who has performed in the past in a wide range of styles with acts including Pink Martini, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Edna Vazquez, and Cardioid.

Established in 1969, Music à la Carte is a free, informal public performance, occurring most Fridays at noon. It is hosted by the College of Liberal Arts, School of Visual, Performing and Design Arts with funding from the Student Fee Committee and a generous sponsorship by Angela Carlson.
