This new Land Steward course from OSU Extension features a blend of online, classroom, and field instruction and is well-suited for busy adults who enjoy online learning but also want to see stewardship in action! The course includes:
Seven self-paced, online lessons (one per week)One weeknight classroom sessionTwo dynamic field days with local experts (Saturdays, sites in rural Josephine County) Are you an owner of a small woodland, small farm, or other rural land? Learn how to manage your property’s natural resources more effectively with this new offering from the Land Steward program. This course features a blend of online, classroom, and field instruction and is well-suited for busy adults who enjoy online learning but also want to see stewardship in action! Included are one classroom session in Grants Pass, two dynamic field sessions on Saturdays and seven self-paced, online lessons. Topics include wildfire risk reduction, woodland management, encouraging and controlling wildlife, stream/riparian ecology, pasture management, growing health soils, small acreage infrastructure, stewardship planning, and much more.
The eight week course starts September 11 and runs through November 3.
