About this Event
Convocation is one of two seminal ceremonies that bookend the academic year. Whereas Commencement celebrates the graduating class, Convocation celebrates the incoming class. Each fall, Oregon State University welcomes the incoming class of students at the New Student Convocation ceremony. Convocation, which literally translates to "come together," is a ceremony in which we welcome OSU's new students to campus.
3:00 p.m. Processional begins at the MU Quad
3:30 p.m. Ceremony begins in Gill Coliseum
All university senior leaders, faculty and staff are welcome and encouraged to attend Convocation as guests. Cheer on OSU's incoming students from the sidewalk as they walk in the processional from the MU Quad down 26th Street, then find a seat in Gill Coliseum for the ceremony.
