Alexander "Sasha" Chemey - Chemistry Departmental Seminar
Abstract: Alexander “Sasha” Chemey is a newly-appointed Assistant Professor in the School of Nuclear Science and Engineering, where he is founding the Alchemey Group. He was previously as a Postdoctoral Scholar (or “Alchemist") in the Loveland Group in the Department of Chemistry. His research there included fundamental fission studies, actinide materials deposition, and new electronics software development. He received his PhD in Chemistry in the Thomas Albrecht-Schönzart (neè Albrecht-Schmitt) group at Florida State University, where his dissertation was titled “Actinide Fluorides."
