This workshop is targeted toward participants who are interested in, but unfamiliar with this activity. It start to build skills and confidence in participants. Participants have the opportunity to identify their skill-level and readiness-to-lift, and key areas which they can focus on to become ready to lift. They will learn progressions of the Olympic lifts: the clean, jerk and snatch, in a step-by-step fashion. The first progressions of these lifts will be taught using a wooden dowel. Participants will learn in a group environment, while receiving individualized feedback. Participants who have the foundational skills and confidence can then progress to using a barbell.
