What You’ll Learn

OHSU’s Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. program offers immersive, hands‑on research from day one. Students work alongside leading scientists across:

• Knight Cardiovascular Institute
• Casey Eye Institute
• And many other interdisciplinary research centers

As an OHSU Ph.D. student, you’ll develop:

• Core biomedical engineering concepts and technical skills
• Hypothesis‑driven research and model design
• Experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific communication
• Professional and ethical research practices

You’ll also gain opportunities in:

OHSU welcomes students from all engineering disciplines as well as biology, chemistry, data science, computer science, and related fields.
Full‑time Ph.D. students receive a competitive stipend, and all tuition and university fees are covered.
