Katie will be describing resources available for faculty, post docs, and graduate students to maximize the impact of their research involvements through technology commercialization and market development pathways. Specifically, attendees will learn about:
• How to access funding (OSU, state, government agencies, angels, venture, etc.)
• Available entrepreneurial training for researchers interested in commercializing tech
• OSU technology commercialization success stories
• How to access to mentors, coaches, and customers

ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Katie Pettinger has about a decade of experience with technology commercialization, working with researchers to bring innovations to market. She is co-founder and Managing Director of Gadusol Laboratories, an OSU spinoff company and NSF SBIR Phase I & II recipient seeking to commercialize a natural sunscreen. In addition to her role at Gadusol Laboratories, Katie helps Oregon State University researchers launch technology-based startup companies. Her past experience has included technology scouting for an investment organization, several years of experience working in technology transfer and business development at the Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), where she held leadership roles and worked to move inventions out of the lab and into the marketplace. Katie also served as VP of Operations for a entrepreneurship training nonprofit. She holds an MBA with a focus in technology commercialization from OSU.
