Handling Low Photon Detection Effieciency and High Dark Current Rate in SPAD sensor array

SPAD sensor reverse-biased p-n junction diodes, which is reverse biased above its breakdown voltage. These highly sensitive sensors are considered ideal for photon counting and time-of-flight calculations. However, These sensors have very low Photon-Detection Efficiency (PDE) in the infrared region and high Dark current rate (DCR). Such limitations hinder its applications. Here I propose a learning-based filter for the SPAD sensor so that we can extract the signal from the noisy output of the sensor.
