Students will gain 50+ hours of animal experience through serving communities in need by treating their working animals alongside Mexican veterinarians. Explore the practice of veterinary medicine, and the influence of culture in the practice of veterinary medicine, including aspects of One Health, animal welfare, wildlife preservation, animal industry, and human-animal interaction in the context of Mexico. Tour Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the largest university in Mexico with an estimated enrollment of 350,000 students. Learn about veterinary education in Mexico by touring the UNAM's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics. Complete your experience by visiting the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios, the prominent church on top of a pyramid in Cholula, Puebla; tour the pyramids at Teotihuacán, downtown Mexico City, and the famous 500-acre Africam Zafari Zoo.
