"A word after a word after a word is power,” says Margaret Atwood, long-time literary titan and feminist icon.

The first event in the 2024-25 Provost’s Lecture Series, An Evening with Margaret Atwood will feature Ms. Atwood in conversation with OSU associate professor of English and creative writing, Jennifer Richter. Atwood will draw on diverse themes in her wide-ranging body of work, including her landmark novel The Handmaid’s Tale and its record-breaking sequel The Testaments, to offer a keen and prescient look into hidden societal truths and a glimpse of where we might go next. A brilliant and witty speaker, she will challenge attendees to think critically about their role in pursuing equality and true democracy, inspiring them to fight against injustice and create the world they want to see.

The Provost’s Lecture Series is a partnership between the Office of the Provost and the OSU Foundation. An Evening with Margaret Atwood has been made possible with additional co-sponsorship from the College of Liberal Arts.
