DESCRIPTION:College of Health and the Office of Research Integrity are host
ing a nine-month Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Program on
the first Friday of each month. Complete your RCR training requirements i
n monthly sessions with presentations by OSU faculty and staff. This progr
am will allow recipients of NIH career development and training grants to
meet their 8-hour\, face-to-face training obligations\, and for other rese
archers to meet their requirements and recommendations from other funding
agencies. All are welcome to attend.\n\nThis Responsible Conduct of Resear
ch (RCR) Training Symposium will explore best practices for ensuring scien
tific integrity\, enhancing reproducibility\, and managing research data e
 ffectively.\n\nThis event is ideal for researchers\, graduate students\, a
nd postdoctoral fellows seeking to deepen their understanding of these ess
ential aspects of responsible research. Attendees will gain practical insi
ghts into improving the reliability and transparency of their scientific w
ork.\n\nLearn more about upcoming RCR Trainings.\n\nSpeakers\n\nAndy Larki
n\, PhD is a Senior Assistant Research Professor in the Spatial Health Lab
at Oregon State University's College of Health. His research focuses on e
nvironmental epidemiology and the integration of advanced technologies and
big data into exposure assessment. Dr. Larkin has developed innovative to
ols such as smartphone applications for air pollution informatics and comp
utational models to predict biological responses to chemical exposures. Hi
s current projects include global land use regression models for air pollu
tion prediction and spatial methods for assessing unconventional oil and g
as development impacts. With expertise in deep learning\, statistical mode
ling\, and geospatial analysis\, Dr. Larkin is dedicated to improving envi
ronmental exposure assessments and advancing epidemiological studies.\n\nC
lara Llebot Lorente\, PhD is an Associate Professor in the College of Eart
h\, Ocean\, and Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University and serves
as a Data Management Specialist at OSU Libraries. She holds a PhD in Ocea
nography from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and specializes
in research data management practices. Her work emphasizes the FAIR princ
 iples (Findable\, Accessible\, Interoperable\, Reusable) for institutional
research data policies and improving the adoption of effective data manag
ement practices among research teams. Dr. Llebot has contributed extensive
ly to scholarly publications on data curation\, active learning tools for
decision-making\, and peer review processes for research datasets. Her exp
ertise bridges environmental sciences and library sciences to enhance rese
 arch transparency and reproducibility.
