Sacred rest is a 40-minute practice oriented to down-regulating the nervous system, slowing down, easing the stress response, grounding, relaxing and opening to natural awareness using guided body and breath-based meditations. Meditation cushions (zafus), floor pads (zabutons), and padded folding chairs are provided at the center. Please bring your yoga mat as much of this session is oriented to laying on the floor or engaging very slow and gentle rocking movements or stretches. These are drop-in style sessions, open to all levels and abilities. This class offers a very gentle and easeful introduction to meditation for those who are new to the practice, and a refreshing approach for those who feel resistant to more formal, upright styles of meditation.
