Fires in the West:
How to build fire adaptive communities for the future
Speaker: Dr. Erica Fischer | Assistant Professor, Civil & Construction Engineering, Oregon State University College of Engineering
The 2020 fire season has brought devastation to Oregon’s central Cascade Range. As communities recover and other communities look to mitigate for wildfire hazards, there are many elements that can be considered, particularly as our climate grows hotter and more dry. Fischer will discuss the wildland urban interface and choices that can be made to reduce damage to infrastructure in the future.
