https://health.oregonstate.edu/research/seminars/2025-02-07College of Health and the Office of Research Integrity are hosting a nine-month Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Training Program on the first Friday of each month. Complete your RCR training requirements in monthly sessions with presentations by OSU faculty and staff. This program will allow recipients of NIH career development and training grants to meet their 8-hour, face-to-face training obligations, and for other researchers to meet their requirements and recommendations from other funding agencies. All are welcome to attend.
This research training provides researchers with essential knowledge and practical skills for handling sensitive health data responsibly and in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA). Participants will learn about data security best practices, de-identification techniques, informed consent procedures, data sharing agreements, and ethical considerations related to using PHI in research. This training emphasizes protecting patient privacy while advancing scientific discovery.
Learn more about upcoming RCR Trainings.
Speakers
Professor Denise Hynes, OSU College of Health, director of health data and informatics in the Center for Quantitative Life Sciences; and David McMorries, OSU’s chief information security officer.
