Water, youth, and the global water agenda

by Lindsey Aldaco-Manner, World Youth Parliament for Water

Youth, women, refugees, and indigenous communities are among the most vulnerable populations when it comes to access to clean water, sanitation and health (WASH). As the UN-Water theme this year has been set to “Leave No One Behind” the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) will continue to work vigorously to ensure that the voices of youth are heard and not left behind in influencing water policy. To support youth access to clean water, WYPW supports “youth-led innovations, especially nature-based ones that solve local WASH challenges.” Lindsey will discuss the activities of WYPW to influence the global water agenda, youth-led water initiatives, as well as draw upon her recent research on water governance in Lebanon.
