Ahoy! Join us for this summer camp and learn about the different ways ships are powered and used for research, transport, sea floor mapping, and more. Campers (ages 11-12) will build and test different types of boats (paddle, sail, and solar) to determine what power source is most effective. We will also learn about survival techniques as we explore various habitats to see what resources are available for surviving a shipwreck. Oregon Sea Grant is offering this in-person summer day camp at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport.
Camp begins on Monday, August 2 and runs daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Thursday, August 5.
