The goal of Speaking Justice is to engage in a dialogue with our community through spoken word, poetry, and art as the medium. Join us for an afternoon workshop with Marcus Lattimore. Marcus Lattimore is a former Collegiate Football All-American and NFL running back for the San Francisco 49ers. The 2010 National Freshman of the Year, 2011 Walter Camp All-American, and the University of South Carolina’s all-time touchdown record holder, Marcus is celebrated as one of the most influential athletes in state history. His honors include induction into the USC Hall of Fame (2019), the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame (2024), and the SEC Legends Class of 2023. In 2012, South Carolina declared October 29th “Marcus Lattimore Day.” After football, Marcus became a Grand Slam Champion Poet, narrator, and voice actor, representing Oregon nationally in 2024. He is now a spoken word artist and creative writing teacher based in Portland, Oregon.
